FAQ

Does clockin fulfil the requirements for mandatory time recording?

Yes. clockin enables working times to be recorded in accordance with ECJ requirements. At the same time, clockin guarantees a transparent view of employees' working times via the employee self-service.

How do I convince non-tech-savvy employees to use clockin?

clockin was deliberately developed and tested together with tradespeople and other practitioners who do not use a smartphone in everyday life. Our experience has shown: As our app requires no training and is intuitive to use, even employees who are not tech-savvy have no problems using it.

Does every one of my employees need a smartphone for time recording?

No. Using the column function, one device per team is sufficient. The supervisor can then use it to clock in for the entire team.

How does time recording with GPS tracking work?

Nobody wants to be monitored. Neither do we. Clockin's time recording and documentation is not about monitoring, but about transparent work documentation. That's why the GPS tracking function is a top priority for us - you decide whether you want to use it! Because live logging and live documentation are also possible without GPS tracking.

Experience has shown that we recommend using the GPS function transparently and involving employees and works councils in the decision-making process.
The German Occupational Health and Safety Act imposes strict limits on the tracking of employees. In particular, employees should not feel pressurised or exposed to permanent monitoring. Therefore, clockin does not permanently track employees. You are free to decide whether or not you want to use the GPS function in consultation with your employees/works councils.
It is technically possible to record a GPS point every time an employee/column changes activities. The situation is different for journeys in company vehicles: as this is an expensive item of company inventory, it may be possible in certain cases to record the location at shorter intervals.
